Members of the Southampton & Region Hoteliers Association were today encouraged to celebrate the Champions of the Hospitality industry by nominating, staff, colleagues and managers for the 2020 Hospitality Awards. The launch that took place at Saint Mary’s Stadium and supported by Saints Events, were told of the success of last year’s awards and what it means to the unsung hero’s of the industry.
The 2020 Hospitality Awards have been designed to seek out the high achievers and teams throughout 2019 and will amplify the best hotels and venues in the city for areas such as customer service, guest satisfaction and market growth.
Voting for the Hospitality Awards will take place from now until the beginning of November, with finalists announced in Winter and culminating in an awards ceremony on February 7th, 2020 at DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton Hotel, where the finalists will be revealed.
The non-profit awards will again donate a portion of the ceremony ticket sales to the charity FareShare; the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste, by saving food from going to waste and redistributing it to frontline charities. Last year’s awards enabled the Association to provide £2,000 for the charity and Claire Martin, Development Manager at FareShare South Central said that the money will be used in the Summer Holidays to provide 80 families with food such as fresh fruit, vegetables and meat. It is reported that children in poverty, lose 8% of their body weight during the Summer where they do not have access to free schools meals during the 6 weeks holidays.
